Verizon Nokia Lumia 928 shows up

PhoneArena has received a tip from an anonymous source showing the new phone called the Nokia Lumia 928 in the inventory systems of Verizon. Verizon’s is America’s second largest mobile network operator behind AT&T.

Could this be Verizon’s version of the Lumia 920?

This is the first time we see the Lumia 928 name show up, but the name looks similar to the Lumia 920. Could this be Verizon’s version of the Lumia 920? Untill now the Nokia Lumia 920 running Windows 8 was exclusive to AT&T. To boost Nokia’s sales, it sure would be a smart move to launch it’s flagship phone at Verizon.

Name wise, it does seem logical that the Lumia 928 is a version of the Lumia 920. For example: Verizon’s version of the Lumia 820 was called the Lumia 822.

This is not the first time we heave heard rumors about the Nokia Lumia 920 coming to Verizon. Some while ago there where rumors about a Nokia Lumia 920 with the code name “Laser” coming to Verizon.

Nokia Lumia 928 specifications

Nokia Lumia 928 will be available in 4 different colors

Based on yesterday’s leaked info it looks like the Lumia 928 will be made of aluminum instead of polycarbonate. Today we got new leaked information regarding the design of the Lumia 928 to share!

We got our hands on a new screenshot showing us that the Nokia Lumia 928 will be available in White, Black, Red, and Cyan!

Nokia Lumia 928 in four different color

Colors don’t come as a surprise

The picture shows us the information we have already seen in the previous picture of Verizon’s inventory. But also shows us that the phone is coming in 4 different versions: White, Black, and Red which are colors we have already seen before at Verizon with the Lumia 822.

Next, to this, the phone will also launch in a Cyan version. We have already seen a cyan version of the Lumia 920 and the just-announced Lumia 720, so this color doesn’t come as a surprise as well. Based on the release of the Lumia 720 it seems like we are going to be missing out on other Lumia colors like yellow, but of course, Nokia might always release more colors in the future.

No new information

We tried to get more information from our source regarding a possible release date and hardware specs, but we were unsuccessful.

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting day for the Lumia 928 since the Samsung Galaxy S4 will be announced. Based on the information we currently have both phones will hit the market around the same time fighting for market share.

Here is the picture that was sent to us (we added a watermark):

What happened to the Red and Cyan Lumia 928?

Based on a leaked screenshot of Verizon’s inventory we know that Nokia was working on a black, white, red and cyan version of the Lumia 928.

At the release of the Lumia 928, it became obvious that Verizon would only launch a White and Black version of the Lumia 928, so what happened to the Red and Cyan Lumia 928?

Other colors expected to arrive at a later date

First of all, that the Lumia 928 was launched in black and white doesn’t mean that the other colors won’t arrive.

We have seen something similar happen with the Lumia 822, the red version of this phone wasn’t released on Verizon until 3 months after the original release.

In my opinion, a Verizon employee sums it up nicely on the wpcentral forums

I guess it is only time before we see the Red and Cyan versions arrive on Verizon. When will this be? When we find a release date for the Red/Cyan versions we will, of course, let you know on this website so stay tuned!
